  I only met & spoke with Robert once (in Skerries) but it left a lasting memory in my mind and shortly after I took to the short citcuits.   I grew up watching you every year at the NW200, you brought such excitement and sportsmanship to the races. I remember how everyone always wanted to know 'how'd the Dunlop brothers do'? And when you or Joey would come round in the lead at the metropole the crowd on the railway embankment would let out a huge cheer. We watched you in many an exciting race around that course.

  Another member of the Dunlop racing family has gone. Everyone remembers Joey for the record number of TT wins. However, Robert was an equally talented rider. Anyone who has seen the TT crash when the back wheel collapsed will wonder how he ever got the courage to climb back in the saddle.
